I'd say to visit the Palace Museum on Mizingani Rd, the entry fee is $3. It has an interesting history, as this low-white palace was the residence of the Sultans of Zanzibar. There is a special room of Princess Salme, Sultan Said's daughter who ran away with a German businessman. It has wonderful paintings too.
